Presevo – By the decision of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the local Assembly in Presevo was dissolved on Thursday, December 17, since no session had been held since August 27, the Office of the Municipal President Sciprim Arifi confirmed for the South Serbia News portal. 

The office states that, following the withdrawal of the coalition partner – the Civic Group Movement for Reforms – there was not a sufficient number of councilors. The government has decided that the President of the Provisional Authority in Presevo will be Sciprim Arifi.

The office says that the three months since no session of the Assembly has been held ended on November 27.

The President of the Municipality, Sciprim Arifi, wrote on his Facebook page that Presevo was approaching the fifth elections in four years, which were extraordinary ones on two occasions, thus changing the four ruling coalitions, almost one every year, while he defined the situation as “being completely crazy".

The Government of the Republic of Serbia has decided that the President of the Provisional Authority in Presevo will be the President of the Municipality Sciprim Arifi, while Ragmi Mustafa from the Democratic Party of Albanians, Branko Trajkovic from the SNS-SPS coalition, as well as Admir Latifi and Ardita Sinani from the Party for Democratic Action, will be its members. 

According to the decision, the temporary body will be performing current and urgent tasks within the competence of the Assembly and the executive bodies of the Municipality of Presevo until the Assembly has been constituted and the executive bodies of the Municipality elected upon the elections held in accordance with the law.
