The Chamber of Commerce of Serbia (CCS) invited employers to join the dual education system in the next school year and submit a Statement of Readiness to Participate in that Program by January 31, 2021.
The CCS said in its statement that as of the next school year, according to the dual model, there would be five new educational profiles on offer, introduced at the initiative of the economy.
These are programs for the training of technicians for furniture and interior design, shoemakers, trade technicians, carpenters and printing technicians.
The CCS also launched a specialized web portal http://portal.dualnoobrazovanje.rs/ where interested employers can create a profile and submit an application for being included in the dual education system in three steps.
When applying, employers submit a statement of readiness for inclusion in dual education and an application for accreditation.
The accompanying documentation for accreditation is submitted by employers no later than ten days from the date of submission of the statement and request, electronically or to the address of the Chamber of Commerce of Serbia, or the Regional Chamber of Commerce: PKS-RPK Leskovac, 12 Stojana Ljubića Street, 16000 Leskovac.
The final decision on the classes approved for the dual model of education will be reached by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development when the Competition for enrollment of students in secondary schools is announced, which is expected at the end of March 2021.
Employers can get further information on the website of the Chamber of Commerce or on https://dualnoobrazovanje.rs/.
In the current school year, around 6,900 secondary school students are learning through work in almost 900 companies, for one of the 47 educational profiles.
So far, over 4,000 students from Serbia have completed their education according to the dual model of education.
It is a model of secondary school vocational education in which knowledge and skills are acquired both at school and in the company, whereby students acquire practical and applicable knowledge and skills in the company.
The Chamber of Commerce of Serbia initiated the introduction of a dual model of education in the system of secondary school vocational education more than five years ago, it was also said in the statement.
