The Ministry of Culture and Information has announced a competition "Cities in Focus", which provides an opportunity for local self-governmental units to improve their capacities and cultural offer in cooperation with institutions, artistic and other associations in the field of culture, as well as individuals and other cultural entities.

The aim of the call is to encourage local development through support for annual programs of cultural activities.

The selected local self-governments will take the title of "City in Focus", which will enable them to be recognized as relevant national centers of cultural development and thus become more visible on the cultural map of the Republic of Serbia and Europe.

The program "Cities in Focus 2021" will contribute to the improvement of culture and art in local communities, the enrichment of cultural life, encouraging the development of creativity and cultural diversity, as well as recognizing the specific characteristics of cultural identity and sustainable development of the local community.

The call is open until February 1, 2021, while the decision on the selected projects and the amount of allocated funds will be reached by April 1, 2021 at the latest.
