Over the next six months, 40 new young people will attend training in the skills necessary for employment and activism in the community.

Last year, the same training motivated the first group of young participants to build 11 ramps for people with disabilities and to paint the fences of elementary schools and other institutions in Presevo and Bujanovac. Through socialization, language training and volunteer work in the community, these young people managed to overcome all the existing mutual prejudices and become close friends during the project. Field experience motivated them to become independent activists, who openly face problems in their town and municipality, resolving them in favor of the entire community.

A group of young people who are involved in the project this year was chosen after an open competition that was organized in August 2012.

All of them had the opportunity in Vranjska banja to participate in the introductory training, during which they familiarized themselves with the project, current results and opportunities offered to them.

The “YouthBuild” training center was opened on October 2, 2012, in the presence of representatives of donors, the mayor of Bujanovac, Vranje Mayor and representatives of other local and international organizations.

“YouthBuild "is a model that was implemented and that produced excellent results in 15 countries around the world. With more than 30 years of experience, "YouthBuild" has trained over 94,000 young people to be active, engaged and build their own community by themselves.
