Presevo, Bujanovac, Medvedja – All pensioners will receive a one-off financial assistance in the amount of 5,000 dinars by December 18. This bonus, which will be given to a total of 1.7 million pensioners, will not be paid along with a pension check, but as a special income that will be paid by the end of December.

Aleksandar Vucic, the President of the Republic of Serbia, presented the good news for elderly citizens in Serbia during his appearance in a RTS program. Namely, he announced that 1,720,000 pensioners would receive a one-off state assistance in the amount of five thousand dinars each before Saint Nikola’s Day. And that is not the only good news – from January 1 next year, pensions will increase by 5.9 percent, announced President Vucic.

He stated that he knew that it did not mean much to some pensioners, but that it would mean a lot to those who have pensions below the average.

He also announced sector support for those endangered by the corona virus crisis. He pointed out that hoteliers, travel agencies, guides, travel agency employees, caterers and car rental agencies will be paid another minimum wage.

He stated that about 72,500 people would get that payment within 10 days.
