Medvedja – Testing of the employees that are going to work in a factory of socks, which will soon be opened in the former "Nitex" plant from Nis, was carried out in Medvedja. 300 interested persons applied for 60 working places.
The owner of the company is Muharem Salihu from the village of Tupale near Medvedja, who has been working in Italy for years, while „a professional company from Nis” carried out the testing of workers over the past two days. 300 interested persons applied for the jobs, mainly women from the local Serbian and Albanian communities.
According to the socks factory, 60 workers will initially work there, including another 60 in the second stage, while the goal is employ up to 300 workers in the next year and a half.
As it was said, the director of the factory is an Italian , "a man with a long professional career," while the socks produced in Medvedja are intended for domestic market and the exports to Europe and the United States.
The factory said that it would produce shoes as well, the manufacturing of which would be started by the "Medinvest" company of Muharrem Salihu.
