Меdvedja – The Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government stated that it had allocated 29.1 million dinars from the Budget Fund for the implementation of projects in three municipalities of the Jablanica administrative district, which are  Medvedja, Lebane and Bojnik.

Меdvedja – The Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government stated that it had allocated 29.1 million dinars from the Budget Fund for the implementation of projects in three municipalities of the Jablanica administrative district, which are  Medvedja, Lebane and Bojnik.

Upon signing the contract with the President of the Municipality of Medvedja, Nebojsa Arsic, Minister Marija Obradovic pointed out that cities and municipalities in Serbia woke up and applied in 2021 for 225 projects worth 2.2 billion dinars from the Budget Fund.

The value of the Fund for this year is 460 million dinars, which were allocated for the projects in 54 local self-governmental units in Serbia.

Medveđa applied with two goals, namely infrastructure projects and projects for the protection against natural disasters. Their total value is around 13.5 million dinars, and they are intended for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of the "Mladost" preschool institution, as well as for the cleaning of riverbeds and the rehabilitation of the road network, which was damaged by natural disasters.

Minister Obradović pointed out that Medvedja  was often mentioned in the Government of Serbia as one of the most active municipalities, which sought funds for its projects, all in order to improve the functioning of the local self-government.

“It is important for the citizens to know that their leadership is recognized in Belgrade as someone who is active and that this part of central Serbia is not neglected by the Government. Implementing the policy of balanced development of the whole of Serbia, and especially investing in municipalities like Medvedja, is the essence of our policy and everything we have been doing since 2012”, Minister Obradović said.

She pointed out that the priority of the Government was the vaccination of the population that was older than 60, in which respect Medvedja was a good example with 32% of vaccinated citizens in that age category.
