Меdvedja – On the occasion of marking the 100th anniversary of the uprising in Toplica, wreaths to fallen soldiers were laid at the monument by Nebojsa Arsic, the Mayor of Medvedja, Milisav Miletic, President of the Association of War Veterans from 1941 to 1945, and Svetislav Milovanovic , a representative of the descendants of veterans of the great war.

The celebration of the aforementioned historical event was initiated by the municipal library "Petar Petrović Njegoš". As a sign of remembering the glorious ancestors, the library announced the literary and art competition for primary and secondary schools in the territory of the Jablanica district, which will be open until April 11. A committee, which will deal with further organization of the event, was formed, while the major ceremony will be held in Medvedja at the end of May.

In late February/early March 1917, the uprising swept Toplica and Jablanica districts and spread to other parts that were under the Bulgarian occupation. It is an integral part of the liberation struggle of the Serbian people in the First World War.
